About the Author

The Beginning. Albert began life in Sheffield, England on December 16th, 1968. His earliest and fondest memories are those of the first moon landing. After a brief stint in England, Albert spent the next 18 years in the sunny neighborhoods of northeast San Jose in California, where he grew up in the wide open spaces of the fertile Santa Clara Valley. For those familiar with the area, the district is Berryessa. At that time, it was still a place of orchards and farms as was written by John Steinbeck in his novels. Traffic was a non-issue in the Bay Area, 680/280 was still being built, the bridge to nowhere really went nowhere, 17 was still only one lane in either direction and San Jose was a southern predominantly farming suburb of San Francisco.

Favorite Memories. Some of Albert's favorite memories of those early times included the field of red-wing black birds that frequently sang in the high grasses off what is now Old Hostetter Road and picking cartons of strawberries out of the patches and buckets of Bing cherries off the trees. His favorite place in the world is Yosemite National Park in Northern California.

Beaches. A devoted fan of beaches and water, Albert loves the ocean and recommends everyone to visit the California/Oregon and Maine coastlines as much as possible.

My Photography Projects. My more recent photography projects are on my photography projects site which includes my architecture and parabolic flight galleries.

Work. Albert graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering but never lost his love for computers, writing, or art, and in 1994 his hobby became his work when he set up the first official web server at Harvard University at the Graduate School of Education. Albert is currently the technical coordinator for the Ashton Graybiel Spatial Orientation Laboratory at Brandeis University.

Wedding. He celebrated his first wedding to Brandy Baker (pictured above) on October 20th, 2001. Please visit our wedding pictures gallery!

Our Home. Brandy and Albert also recently became co-homeowners of an 1897 Queen Anne style multi-family house. Please feel free to learn what we learned about home ownership and home improvement in the Unit 2 Website.

TV Shows. Albert's favorite TV shows are (or were if they were cancelled or ended) Futurama, The Simpsons, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Outer Limits, Babylon 5, The Pretender, and Roswell.

Music. I find that I am moved the most by the human experience. I have found that raw emotion in this form is articulated most clearly and honestly in music. There is a liquid beauty in music, in the performer that is tremendous and compelling. I recommend the artists on the right for the reason that their music is not only wonderful, but a rare reflection of incredible honest beauty.		Male Artists	Bands	Female Artists
